Casualties Unknown Items Database
Item questions are usually urgent: what does this do, can I use it now, and is it worth the weight. The database is organised around those three questions.
Quick answer
- Search by the item name you remember, then filter by category to narrow the result.
- Read the use, risk and related-keyword fields before deciding to carry an item.
- Medical entries describe in-game effects only and are not real-world advice.
- Names and balance can change between builds; verify anything numeric in-game.
Item categories and what they answer
| Category | Player question | What the entry covers |
|---|---|---|
| Medical | Can this stop the problem I have now? | In-game use, urgency and related status effects |
| Container | Is it worth the weight and slots? | Storage role and carry trade-offs |
| Crafting | What is this part for? | Material role and route context |
| Hazard | What just hurt me? | Hazard recognition and response |
| Character | Who is this and why do they matter? | Character and lore context |
| Settings | How do I change this behaviour? | Options and setup pointers |
Search tips that find the right card
- Search the shortest distinctive part of the name, not the full sentence in your head.
- If you are unsure of spelling, search a material or use instead of the name.
- Use the category filter after the first search; it is faster than guessing more words.
- If a result is empty, clear the box to restore the full list.
The homepage database is a demonstration of the lookup pattern. It is intentionally small and grows only when real search demand shows which items players actually look up.
How to read an item card
Each card answers four things:
- What it is: the name and category.
- What it does: the in-game effect or role.
- What it costs: weight, slots or risk.
- What to check next: related items, status effects or routes.
If a card does not answer the question you arrived with, use the related keywords to jump to the right section instead of scrolling.
Medical items need an urgency-first reading
Medical questions are the most time-sensitive searches in the game. Read them in this order:
- Does this stop bleeding or only stabilise it?
- Does it work on the injury I actually have?
- What does it cost me in time or side effects?
See the medical guide for the full triage order. Every medical entry on this site is in-game information only.
What to do when an item is missing
The database is deliberately conservative. An item appears when there is enough confidence to describe its role without inventing numbers. If an item you need is missing, use the site search on the homepage to check whether it is covered under a related name or section.
Do not treat a missing entry as proof that an item does not exist. It usually means the page has not been verified yet.
Frequently asked questions
How do I search the item database?
Type the shortest distinctive part of the item name on the homepage, then narrow the list with the category filter.
Are item stats exact?
No numeric stat is presented as guaranteed. Balance changes between builds; verify numbers in-game and treat this database as a role and usage reference.
Why is an item missing?
Entries are added only when their role can be described confidently. A missing item usually means it has not been verified, not that it does not exist.
Is the medical information real-world advice?
No. Every medical entry describes in-game mechanics only. Never use a game guide for real medical decisions.
Can I search by category only?
Yes. Clear the search box and choose a category to list everything in that group.
